Leg Vein Treatment

IPL (intense pulsed light) and ND Yag laser is used for small to medium visable veins on any area of the body. This treatment is mostly used for leg veins. Larger veins can be treated with Sclerotherapy – an irritant injected into the vein and a referral can be made for this. Veins too large or complex or with certain deep diseases may not be treatable with the above-mentioned treatments. A physician’s consult will be available at our clinic. Yag laser is offered at our Halifax and New Glasgow locations.

For deep vein concerns that lead to bulging varicose veins, a referral can be made for Endo-Venous Laser treatment, a revolutionary method of correcting deep vein incompetence.

IPL is a non-surgical treatment option available at our clinic for fine vein or matted areas. It is a light source that is directly applied over the affected blood vessels causing coagulation of the blood vessel which is then absorbed by your body. Most of the veins treated will be gone within one or two treatments, however, for long-term results one or two additional treatments may be required. Follow-up treatments are spaced between 2 – 8 weeks apart.
